Hey, It's a Rabbit - Magic Party

Author: Gail Leino

With plenty of black top hats, white rabbits and black wands that turn into flowers, you are ready to have a magic party. If your child is captured by the perplexities of magic and thrilled by the thought of the impossible becoming possible, then they would really enjoy a magic party.

First think about decorations. Buy black top hats at the party store. Place a stuffed white rabbit in the hat so it looks like it's coming out of it. Use this as centerpieces or create one or two for tabletop decorations.

Ask children to bring their own magic cape or supply them for your guests. The kids will love the fact that they get to be the magicians as well. Decorate the walls with large pictures of playing cards. Use real playing cards in other aspects of decorating. We found several cute magic party supplies, invitations, and decorations at www.PartySuppliesOnline.com. Fill the guest's goody bags with their own magic tricks. You can give the goody bags out halfway through the party so that the children get a chance to do magic tricks as well.

Of course, hire a real magician to come to the party to put on an act. Ask friends and family members for suggestions on whom to use. That way you know you are getting someone who is skilled and entertaining. The last thing you would want to happen is that the children figure out how a bad magician does his tricks.

Set up a stage with a red curtain as a backdrop. With the use of a stage, all the kids are able to see the magician's act and when the magician isn't using the stage the guests can have fun taking turns in performing their own magic shows.
