Gravity Distribution and Peak Performance World Record Athletics

Author: Lance Winslow

If you are to look at a gravity distribution charge of the planet Earth and consider a world record athletic performances in the Olympics then it makes sense why some world records are set in some places and not in others. In downhill skiing if the air is thinner at higher altitudes there is less when resistance and if gravity is the strongest in these locations there is a greater chance of peak performance in world records for downhill skiing. In track and field events those areas with the most oxygen and the least amount of gravity distribution would give an advantage to the athletes for setting a world records.

The human body performs better when oxygen content is greatest. Now let's consider gravity distribution on the planet. Perhaps you have seen the charts or three-dimensional pictures of the earth where the gravity is greater creating a bulge and where it is less creating an indentation. If the Olympic Games were held near sea level at a location where the gravity distribution was least then you would have the greatest chance of having the most world records in track and field broken.

It is a well-known fact in track and field that the greatest records are in deed set at areas that are closest to sea level in the Olympic Games. However, I have not seen any studies to suggest that those areas with the least amount of gravity distribution would also correspond to the greatest records in track and field. Consider the high jump, long jump, Shot Put, Javelin and pole vault. What about the steeplechase and long-distance footraces. All of this should be taken into consideration and studied when trying to post world record-breaking stats. Please consider this in 2006.
