It has long been known that Long Island New York has very low-level elevations and only one way out. If a large Category Hurricane comes crashing in with high storm surges, the entire region stands little chance of anything but massive devastation.

As ocean surfaces heat up and weather continues on our current two-decade peak Hurricane Seasons, we can expect Long Island to take one or more large category direct hits. In fact insurance companies are well advised to dump homeowners insurance policies there to keep from astronomical losses. Some re-insurance companies have already moved out and a couple of AAA insurance carriers have stopped selling insurance and even cancelled policies. Do they know something we do not?

Politically speaking this could be a plus for Hillary Clinton Senator of New York for a lot of free time in the press helping New York Long Island mop up and working to insure smooth sailing with FEMA. Surely this could help her candidacy for President of the United States of America if we get a Cat III or higher direct hit in the 2006 or 2007 Atlantic Tropical Hurricane Season, which it looks as if it very well could happen.

Long Island historically is not without record of massive tidal surges from Hurricanes in the past nor are they some how protected in the near future. In fact experts say, like San Francisco and Los Angeles are over do for a major Earthquake, well so too is Long Island New York over do for a Major Category Tropical Hurricane. And this could be the year, but if not this year it is only a matter of time warn Hurricane Historians and Meteorologists. Consider this in 2006.
