Why Does the Government Spend So Much to Protect Their Databases?

Author: Lance Winslow

Looks as if we have some 500 Billion dollars going into IT work for the government to update their databases, yet all the data they have is complete crap. Indeed, they have files of data on all sorts of stuff and all the citizens too. But all the data is old and garbage and they act as if it is legitimate? Why spend so much to protect their databases from hackers when the data is wrong?

Additionally since it is all crap anyway why bother to keep it? Folks our government, yes thats right it is our government is like a teenager with an unlimited credit card and although we all know that the government does nothing very well; we can say they sure can spend our money like it is going out of style?

If a business had the incessant garbage in their databases that the government did, we could not operate. Can you imagine if all your customer files had old addresses, phone numbers and wrong names? The government says it is protecting the databases for us because of identity theft; utter hokum.

You see the government gives away more data about you than any other source. On marriage licenses, birth certificates, tax returns and property assessment roles. The biggest single source for identity thieves is the United States and local governments. Do not kid yourself. They are not spending all this money on IT for us, they just do not understand what a diet is. Morons. Consider this in 2006.
